THE  ONE  SPIRIT

Print (Will open in a new window)

It is the lack of understanding of who is the ONE SPIRIT that has created havoc with the church.  When referring to the person whose Spirit is called THE ONE SPIRIT, we are speaking of GOD THE FATHER, whose work it is to Baptize the Baptized with holy Spirit believer INTO THE BODY OF CHRIST.  Paul's emphasis of the ONE SPIRIT is calling the believer to KNOW that it is ONLY BY GOD THE FATHER and His Spirit ALONE that this work of being Baptized into the Body of Christ is done.  1 Cor. 12:13-18   2 Cor. 3:3 & 18

When anyone speaks about the ONE SPIRIT there must not be 'confused belief'.  Especially to believe that the One Spirit speaks of two persons as ONE PERSON.  We speak of the persons of God the Father and His Son the Lord Jesus Christ.  The truth is they are TWO DISTINCT PERSONS who work together with ONE MIND, AIM & PURPOSE but they ARE NOT THE ONE SPIRIT.

THE ONE SPIRIT speaks of God the Father Himself.

Christ His Son is the Baptizer with Holy Spirit.  When Christ does this work, it is the Father's Spirit he Baptizes the believer with/into.    John 14:17   Acts 2:33   Matt. 3:11-12

The believer DRINKS THE ONE SPIRIT, which speaks of God the Father's Spirit.   1 Cor. 12:13

God the Father (The One Spirit) NOW working by His Spirit alone, Baptizes/puts in, the Baptized person INTO THE ONE BODY OF CHRIST.  Into the Spiritual Body where Christ is the Head, as first fruit of the resurrection, and where all who are Baptized by Christ, are then Baptized and placed into by God the Father.  God does this work ALONE.  He places them JUST WHERE HE WANTS THE BELIEVER TO BE.       1 Cor. 12:18   Rom. 12:5-6
This is in accordance with what Spiritual Gift one is given by God the Father.       1 Cor. 12:4-11   Rom. 12:5-8
God the Father does His work BY HIS SPIRIT.  Christ does the work given him by His God and Father to do.....by his own Spirit.    Rom. 8:10 & 11
"For the law of the Spirit of Life (One of God the Father's 7 Spirits) in Christ Jesus (the spiritual body not Jesus the person) hath made me free from the law of sin and death".
Rom. 8:2     Rom. 2:29     Jer. 9:25
This is agreeing with Rom. 8:11 where our mortal bodies are made alive.  Why?  Because the law of sin and death has been cut off.  Fulfilling Rom. 6:3-6.  This verse is not referring to water baptism although most people use it as such.  Water does not do a spiritual work only God's Spirit alone does this.

TO BE IN THE BODY OF CHRIST IS TO BE  "IN CHRIST".

Eph. 4:4 states that there is ONE SPIRIT, as there is 'ONE BODY'.  Eph. 4:4-6 states that IT IS THE SPIRIT OF GOD THE FATHER WHO (by His Spirit) is over all, through all and in all who are in the ONE BODY OF CHRIST.  We are only there because we are in the SPIRIT OF GOD, which is a must TO GAIN ENTRANCE TO THE BODY OF CHRIST.....which to be in is to say, I AM 'IN CHRIST' and this is Col. 1:28 by the work of the Father whose SPIRIT is the 'ONE SPIRIT'.
To have the Spirit of Christ ONLY, does NOT GIVE ENTRANCE TO THE BODY OF CHRIST.  However BECAUSE OF Christ's Spirit being in one's spirit (making it ALIVE) one qualifies for Christ to Baptize with Holy Spirit and thus one is able to know the work of the one CALLED THE ONE SPIRIT, that of God the Father.

IN THE ONE BODY,  ALL WHO ARE BAPTIZED WITH HOLY SPIRIT.

The oneness that Jesus prayed to the Father for, is particularly fulfilled, when one through being Baptized with Holy Spirit, is given ENTRANCE INTO THE ONE BODY BY GOD THE FATHER, THE ONE AND ONLY ONE WHOSE WORK IT IS TO DO THIS.  John 17:21-26   Matt. 3:11-12    Eph. 2:14-22

This matter of ONENESS is very important and we believe that it is the statement of Jesus in John 10:30  "That My Father and I are one" that has been bound to the statement of Paul in regard to the Body of Christ and that there is ONE BODY AND ONE SPIRIT and that we are all baptized by ONE SPIRIT INTO ONE BODY AND WE WERE GIVEN THE ONE SPIRIT TO DRINK.
1 Cor. 12:12-13    Eph. 4:5-6

The truth of the matter is that the statement of Jesus and that of Paul DO NOT MEAN THE SAME THING, nor are they speaking about the same subject.
One is speaking of relationship, the other The Body of Christ.

Jesus had THE ONENESS OF MIND AND PURPOSE with his God and Father, which incidentally all those in the Body of Christ are to have, because this is what Jesus prayed for in John 17:20-26    Phil. 1:27 - 2:2
That Oneness is manifested as THE BODY OF CHRIST, where in that Body are all those Baptized with Holy Spirit, Christ the Head of the Body and God the Father whose Spirit is over all, in all, and through all.
All in that Body were put there by THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN DO THIS, God the Father, and all in that Body ARE IN THE SPIRIT OF GOD through Baptism with Holy Spirit.  They have been made to DRINK THE ONE SPIRIT, and that is the Spirit of God the Father.  NO ONE ELSE'S.

Jesus was making the statement of fact REGARDING HIS FATHER AND HIMSELF.
Jesus did all miracles, healing and deliverances by the power of His Father's Spirit.   Luke 5:17

Paul is speaking about the Body of Christ, making the statement that ALL WERE BAPTIZED BY ONE SPIRIT (that of God the Father's BY Christ) and all were made to DRINK THE ONE SPIRIT (absolute diffusion and saturation by His Spirit.)  Eph. 4:5-6 makes this clear.

Christ was given this work, to pour out HIS FATHERS SPIRIT as Joel and many other prophets were promised would happen and it did first on the day of Pentecost.
Acts 2:33    Rev. 3:1    Acts 2:16-17   Joel 2:28   God said "I will pour out My Spirit".
He gave Christ this work as Baptizer with Holy Spirit.  We receive the SAME SPIRIT THAT HE DID WHEN HE WAS BAPTIZED WITH THE SPIRIT OF GOD HIMSELF.  i.e. the Father's.  He is The Spirit.

This is not to be confused with the Spirit of Christ, for in his work as the glorified Christ and Lord, his Spirit is received into our spirit, given by God the Father   but  The Baptism with The Holy Spirit of God  IS A BAPTISM.         Rom. 8:10-11    Gal. 1:1    2 Cor. 3:3 & 18

There is ONLY ONE PERSON WHO CAN PLACE US IN THE BODY OF CHRIST, and the Word of God states THAT ONE PERSON IS GOD AND HE IS THE FATHER.   1 Cor. 12:18**

To know the work of the Father by His Spirit is essential for His work to remain in us.  For it shall be revealed at our judgement, by Christ of the church.   2 Cor. 5:10
The work of God's Spirit is what transforms us into the likeness of Christ and this is what shall be revealed on that day, that which is IN US.   1 Cor. 13:12.
John 16:23-28    John  16:13-15   Eph. 5:20   1 John 2:24-25**

OUR CALLING  IS TO BE LIKE CHRIST AND DO THE FATHER'S WILL.
Matt. 7:21-23.   THERE ARE ETERNAL CONSEQUENCES IF THIS IS NOT DONE.

IN THE ONE BODY, ALL ARE BAPTIZED WITH HOLY SPIRIT.
Jesus is Christ and Lord, Head of the Body and is responsible for the Body.  All faith is to be in God the Father and to be in oneness with Him and His Son.  The oneness of the use of gifts given by Christ and the Spiritual Gifts given by God the Father.  Joined together which is only possible for those in the one body.
Eph. 4:7-11    1 Cor. 12:4-11, 27-31     1 Cor. 7:7     Rom. 12:5     Eph. 5:20**

TO BE IN THE BODY OF CHRIST IS TO BE  'IN CHRIST'.
These are the only ones who are called the church, in the eyes of God.
These are the only ones that an inheritance has been guaranteed.
These are those who are called Sons of God ..... co-heirs with Christ.
These are those who will be judged by Christ as to whether they shall inherit .... Eph. 1:13-14    Gal. 3:14    Rom. 8:17    2 Cor. 5:10.    To receive their crown of righteousness.  2 Tim. 4:8.     THE LORD GOD IS ONE.   Deut. 6:4
This means that there is only one person - who is God.   1 Cor. 8:6    James 2:19.
It is only by the work of God the Father and by the power of His Spirit, that we are given entrance into the one body.
And it is His Spirit that we are made to drink.   1 Cor. 12:13

THE TABERNACLE.
In the Holy place in the Tent of the Meeting, we find the Candlestick.  The material picture of the Spiritual.  The candlestick spoke of God Himself, and of His work or name, that He does by and through His own Spirit.

THERE IS ONE SOURCE.          GOD HIMSELF.

THERE ARE SEVEN OUTLETS OF THIS ONE SOURCE.    These speak of the SEVEN SPIRITS OF GOD.
Rev. 1:4    Rev. 4:2-11    Rev. 3:1    Rev. 5:6
(Christ holds and Baptizes us with God's Spirit and His fullness.
Jesus had the Father's Spirit in him, HIS FULNESS.)   Eph. 3:19

God the Father is one person and by his One Spirit manifests and does His Work by His seven Spirits.
John 14:17    Rom. 1:3-4    Rom. 8:1-2    1 Peter 4:14    Heb. 10:29    Eph. 1:17    Rom. 8:15
Truth,  Holiness,  Life,  Glory,  Grace,  Wisdom & Revelation,  Adoption
THESE ALL OPERATE AT A believers Baptism with Holy Spirit.

THE ONE SPIRIT           speaks         of the Spirit of God Himself

THE ONE SPIRIT           amplifies      the fact that a particular work is only done by God Himself, by Himself, by His Spirit and no other.  i.e. places one in the Body of Christ.

THE ONE SPIRIT           is                 to be drunk by believers.  This happens at Baptism with Holy Spirit.    1 Cor. 12:13

THE ONE SPIRIT           we are         Baptized into Him.  We drink of Him.  The only Spirit that gives Life.  In the one body we live in Life.  It is only in the body that one can know Life.
Because it is here that God is.    Eph. 4:5-6     Matt. 15:13**

BY THE ONE SPIRIT      Because       God the Father by His Spirit exerted His Power to raise us out of death.  As He did his Son.    Eph. 1:19-22    Rom. 10:9

WE ARE GIVEN ENTRANCE INTO THE BODY, THIS IS DONE ONLY BY ONE PERSON,
AND IT IS BY HIS SPIRIT, THAT OF GOD THE FATHER.     1 Cor. 12:18    1 Cor. 6:11

BAPTIZED WITH GOD'S SPIRIT FIRST BY CHRIST

THEN

BAPTIZED INTO THE BODY OF CHRIST  i.e. IN CHRIST

BY GOD THE FATHER

BY HIS OWN SPIRIT   (This is HOW He does His Work!)

Col. 1:27 - 28        Rom. 8:10 - 11

GOD THE FATHER HAS HIS WORK HE DOES BY HIS SPIRIT.
CHRIST HAS HIS WORK (WHICH GOD HAS APPOINTED) HE DOES BY HIS SPIRIT

 John 8:16 - 17      John 5:17 - 23

EACH WORK WITH THEIR OWN ANGELS   Mark 13:27

We have established that the ONE SPIRIT is speaking of the Spirit of God the Father, who by His Spirit presences Himself in, through and over the believer.  It is by His Spirit that He does His work of healing, deliverance etc.
It was by His Spirit that He Baptized the believer, (who had been baptized by Christ into and with the Holy Spirit of God), into the Body of Christ, i.e. 'In Christ' or 'in Christ Jesus', which is not speaking of the person of Christ but the Body where all who have been Baptized by Christ are baptized INTO BY GOD THE FATHER BY HIS SPIRIT.

We have established that Paul WAS BEING EMPHATIC when he spoke of (under the direction of the Spirit of God) of the fact that it was by ONE SPIRIT that we are baptized into THE ONE BODY.          1 Cor. 12:13-18

POINT TO NOTE:  Upon reading this verse many could have come to the conclusion that this was speaking of Christ Himself and it is his Spirit that is the One Spirit, because of the fact that Christ is well known AS THE BAPTIZER WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT AND FIRE.

This verse is not speaking of Christ Baptizing BUT THAT OF GOD THE FATHER, into whose SPIRIT WE HAVE BEEN BAPTIZED BY CHRIST.  Having been baptized by Christ INTO THE SPIRIT OF GOD (that is his work given by God to do), then God by His Spirit in us and as the ONLY ONE WHO CAN DO THIS, takes the Baptized believer and Baptizes/puts them into The Body of Christ (He is the only One whose work it is to do this).

Christ is not the One Spirit doing this work in 1 Cor. 12:13-18.
It is God the Father by His Spirit.

This therefore does not establish that Jesus is God.

It appears that believing that Jesus is THE ONE SPIRIT is to believe he is deity even as the Pharisees believed this to be the case,
(that Jesus was doing this himself, making himself to be God), when he declared in  John 10:30

"I and the Father ARE ONE"

The Pharisees sought to stone him because they MISUNDERSTOOD HIS MEANING.
Whereas the church BELIEVES THIS MAKES HIM TO BE TRULY GOD.  They also generally have been the victims of misunderstanding.

UNDERSTANDING:

What does Jesus mean in saying "My Father and I are ONE?"

It certainly is NOT saying that he is God, but that  "The Father is in me and I in the Father".   John 10:38

Understand that the miracles that he did was because of the fact that The Father who IS God WAS IN HIM and because of that he was in the Father.  This was IMMANUEL.
John 10:25, 36-38      Luke 5:17    John 14:10-12

From the time of Jesus' Baptism when the SPIRIT OF GOD HIMSELF descended on him IN BODILY FORM like a dove (gently like a dove), it was then that Jesus began his ministry.
He began because it WAS GODS TIME, PURPOSE AND AIM.  This was part of Jesus' ONENESS with the Father who is his God.  God's AIMS, PURPOSES, AND MIND as well as the  ONENESS OF having the Father in him by His Spirit.  They were OF One Spirit, which does not mean Jesus is The One Spirit but ONE WITH GOD in purpose, aim and mind.

It is in BOTH ASPECTS OF ONENESS that we are also to know, to live in and constantly nurture.
The ONENESS with the Father .... The Father in us and us in Him.
The ONENESS with the Father .... in One Spirit, Purpose, Aim and Mind

These ONENESSES cannot be known unless FIRST we fulfill the first Oneness and that is of having the Father by His Spirit in us and so then it can be said that WE ARE IN HIM  i.e. His Spirit, as He was in Jesus.

This was the prayer of Jesus just before he went out to the cross.
John 17:20-26  Jesus said "that all OF THEM MAY BE ONE just as WE ARE ONE (meaning) You (Father) are in me and I am in you"
v22 "that they may be ONE as we are one, I in them (Spirit of Christ) and you (Father) in me (Christ)"
v26 "That the love you (Father) have for me (Christ) may be in them and that I myself may be in them (also).

John 14:23  declares that if one is Baptized with Holy Spirit by Christ, then those with Christ in them (first), may know the Father and the Son dwelling in them as a result of the Baptism by Christ.
Jesus said, "If anyone obeys my teaching, My Father will love him and WE will come and make OUR ABODE WITH HIM."

The disciples received the Spirit of Christ after the resurrection of Jesus.  John 20:21-22.
They received the Baptism into the Spirit of God, receiving His Spirit on the day of Pentecost.  They were the first ones to be Baptized by the ONE AND ONLY SPIRIT AND PERSON giving immediate entrance into the Body of Christ, WHERE SPIRITUALLY THEY ARE ONE IN SPIRIT with God the Father and Christ, who are in that Body and indwell each ONE in that Body.  Fulfilling the prayer of Jesus for them...ONENESS OF SPIRIT.

POINT TO NOTE:
For Christ to be IN GOD AND GOD IN HIM (which is the ONENESS WITH GOD Jesus explained) did not make JESUS TO BE GOD.
No more than for believers who are Baptized with the Holy Spirit and are Baptized into the ONE BODY, because they have the Spirit of Christ and that of God the Father in them.
To have God and Christ in one, by their own Spirits,  DOES NOT MAKE US TO BE GOD.  Nor did it make Jesus to be GOD.

We can be called 'gods', as those of Israel were called, because as Jesus said, "The word of God has come to you" but more so because we are Sons of God, co-heirs with Christ.
John 10:34-38    Romans 8:17

UNDERSTAND.
We have established that believers ONENESS is, that God and Christ are in them.
They are placed by God, by His Spirit into the ONE BODY where they are because of the ONENESS OF SPIRIT and that of God.  However, Jesus also prayed that those who would know the same ONENESS OF SPIRIT that they ALSO BE ONE WITH EACH OTHER.  ONENESS WITH EACH OTHER.                             John 17:23

THE ONENESS IN THE BODY OF CHRIST (IN Christ or In Christ Jesus)
Jesus declared that the EVIDENCE OF HIS ONENESS with God were the works that he had done.  They were to speak of his ONENESS WITH GOD.            John 10:25-30

In the Body, (where all those who have been Baptized with Holy Spirit), where one is Baptized into by God the Father (by His Spirit), there is Christ,   and   God the Father whose Spirit is in each, over each and through each one.    Eph. 4:4-6**

There are many but we are to be ONE.   WITH EACHOTHER.
Phil. 1:27 - 2:2 Paul exhorts us by the Spirit of God "Make my joy complete by being LIKE MINDED, HAVING THE SAME LOVE, BEING ONE IN SPIRIT AND PURPOSE"
v5 "Your attitude should be as that of Christ (who we are to be like)
Phil. 1:27  "...stand firm IN ONE SPIRIT CONTENDING AS ONE MAN for the faith of the Gospel."

Paul is speaking to those IN CHRIST.  Those in the Body of Christ.  Where ONENESS WITH GOD,  AND TO GIVE EVIDENCE OF THAT ONENESS, is only possible for those in that ONE BODY.

WHAT WAS JESUS' EVIDENCE THAT HE WAS ONE WITH GOD?
The miracles, the healings, the deliverances etc.  They were to speak for him.

What is the evidence that those in the Body are ONE WITH GOD?
That the gifts and Spiritual gifts are manifested.

POINT TO NOTE:
The manifestation of the gifts (given by Christ, Eph. 4:7-11) and the Spiritual gifts (given by God the Father by His Spirit 1 Cor. 12:4-11) are the evidence of ONENESS in the ONE SPIRIT.
Each believer operating in their particular anointing and appointment.
As situations arise in church meetings these gifts and Spiritual gifts are able to be fostered and matured.  Used in most cases very cautiously at first, then as one grows in assurance of what their particular gifts are they freely minister in them.  (In some cases people will establish a new fellowship on the authority of their particular gift.)

The gifts that can give a high mindedness can give a false confidence and assurance that all is well in regard to their relationship with Christ (many do not consider the Father at all).  They believe that 'if MY GIFTS MANIFEST THEN ALL MUST BE WELL.'

This can be far from the truth.

CONSIDER Matthew 7:21-23

This is relating to when Christ will judge the church.  Those IN CHRIST.
Why does he say "DEPART from me you evil doers" ?  Because they did not do THE FATHERS WILL.
He is not saying rejection is because they had sinned, but BECAUSE THEY DID NOT DO THE FATHERS WILL.  They did not do the Fathers Will AS HE DID AS JESUS, and continues to do so.
They will tell what they had done IN HIS NAME, but he shall say plainly  "I never knew you."

The previous verses speak of those who bring forth thorn bushes and bad fruit.  Many who read this may be surprised at what God calls a GOOD TREE which would bring forth GOOD FRUIT, which is not speaking of their gifts BUT THAT THEY DID THE WILL OF GOD.  THAT THEY ASKED OF HIM AND DID all things according to His MIND, PURPOSE AND AIM.

NOTE:  Hebrews 6:1-3  Leave the elementary teachings ABOUT CHRIST (note teachings not the Person),  go on to maturity, to faith IN GOD to ASK OF HIM, be taught by Him.
John 16:23-28   John 16:13-15

We are not to do what WE THINK IS GOOD AND PLEASING TO GOD, we are to know what to do, when and how.  We are to know what to say, when and how.
In this Christ will know us, that we are obeying the words he gave to the disciples in regard to their on going walk with God the Father.

What do people see is the evidence of those who are one in Spirit because they are IN THE BODY OF CHRIST.... of their ONENESS WITH EACH OTHER ?

Is it all believing the same doctrine ?
All one, perhaps not in doctrine but in the Trinity ?
Then there are several understandings concerning the gospel ?

The world has its sense of oneness, and the church in most cases has its own ideas of what is oneness but is it the same as God the Fathers ?

Can believers who are in the Oneness of the Spirit be  NOT ONE WITH EACH OTHER ?

What was Jesus' ONENESS ?  Who was it with ?  It was with God His Father.
Not only IN SPIRIT  but also  IN LIKENESS with the righteousness of God His Father manifesting not only miracles etc but THE VERY NATURE OF GOD.  He learned of and grew into the likeness of God's nature by obedience to the will of God in all aspects of his life as the Son of Man.
Luke 2:52   Isaiah 7:14-16   Heb. 5:7-10    Heb. 2:9-18

We are to fix our eyes on Jesus AS OUR EXAMPLE of how we are to be.
Not to see him as God and believe that it just isn't possible.
We are to attain the fullness of Christ, to know the same power in our lives as he did, that of His God and Father.       Eph. 4:13     2 Peter 1:3-4     Phil. 3:7-11

POINT TO NOTE:
For Jesus to do the will of God, it was not just a hit and miss thing.
Areas that he managed with his own counsel and wisdom.
Time that he took to do 'his thing'.
He did not separate his life style from the spiritual.  Both were bound in one, with his eyes and mind in constant awareness of what he should say, do or go and that was according to the direction of his God and Father, who sent him to be HIS WORD.
John 1:1     John 12:47-50

God the Father expects all those who have known such a great salvation to seek to be like Jesus.  By this Christ will say "I know you, come and inherit what God has prepared for you, for all those WHO DID MY FATHER'S WILL, for this is why I was sent to bring you to My Father so that you do what are His purposes, will and aims for your life which are in the main FOR THE PURPOSES OF GOD.

Believers ONENESS can only be as each one DOES THE WILL OF GOD FOR THEM.
It is not that they have the same gifts or Spiritual gifts, work or ministry.  It will be in each one ASKING THE FATHER, being taught by Him.
Knowing His constant leading, healing, deliverances and protection.
Confident in whatever ministry or purpose, that He is our strength and having total agreement of mind with His purpose and aims.

ONENESS with the mind, purposes and aims of the Father creates the ONENESS with each other that Jesus prayed for those who would know the ONENESS OF SPIRIT.  Oneness in the Spirit (born again, those IN CHRIST) does not automatically create a ONENESS WITH EACH OTHER.
It is not found in denominations but ONLY AS EACH DOES THE WILL OF GOD.

It is by this that Jesus Christ will judge the believers, those IN CHRIST.
Whether those IN CHRIST did their Father's Will as Jesus did.
For it is in this that Jesus will know us, and that which transforms us into his likeness, to the glory of God the Father.

This is God's intention that all those ONE IN SPIRIT (Baptized with Holy Spirit and IN CHRIST) are ONE IN MIND with God.  This is His Will.
This lets God arise IN HIS FULNESS, His glory seen.  Flowing, operating and manifesting with His Power in and through The Church, convicting of sin, judgment and righteousness and leading into all Truth.  God the Father's Truth with no deviations.
His fruit clearly seen, causing His Saints to rejoice always with exceeding joy.
A testimony to the world that we know God and His goodness.
No matter what - our trust and expectation is in Him for He is a true fortress, His name is powerful and we believe it.  And we will do the greater things that Jesus spoke of because he is with the Father and we are ONE IN SPIRIT & MIND WITH THEM.

This is God's Will and for this NOT to be fulfilled will hold eternal consequences.
1 Cor. 8:6   James 2:19

IN SUMMARY:    THE IMPORTANCE OF RIGHT APPLICATION OF ONENESS OF THE SPIRIT
JESUS'S ONENESS WITH GOD       &      ONENESS OF THE CHURCH

THE ONE SPIRIT    1 Cor. 12:13-18**
Is speaking of the ONLY One who can Baptize the Baptized believer into THE ONE BODY.
This is an EMPHATIC WORD.

Those IN THE ONE BODY of Christ are said to be IN CHRIST.
They are said to be IN THE ONE SPIRIT.  That ONE SPIRIT IS THAT of GOD THE FATHER.

It is HE who BAPTIZES the believer INTO THE ONE BODY where HIS SPIRIT is over all, in all and through all.           Eph. 4:5-6

They are said to be IN THE SPIRIT.  Christ and God the Father by their OWN Spirits dwell in the believer.                    Romans 8:10-11          John 14:23

This fulfills the prayer of Jesus in John 17:20-21.  "Just as you (Father) are in me (Jesus) and I am in You (Father), that they also may be one in US".
WE ARE ONE IN THE SPIRIT OF GOD HIMSELF.
WE ARE TO BECOME ONE WITH GODS WILL, PURPOSES AND AIMS.
ONE WITH HIS MIND,  AS DID JESUS FOR THIS WAS THEIR ONENESS.
John 10:29-30

**NOTE: The believer MUST BE FIRST BAPTIZED BY CHRIST THEN BECAUSE OF THIS GOD THE FATHER BAPTIZES THE BAPTIZED BELIEVER INTO THE ONE BODY, PLACING THEM JUST WERE HE HAS PLANNED FOR THEM TO BE PLACED.
1 Cor. 12:18                  Matt. 15:13.

THE ONENESS OF THE CHURCH                John 17:22          Phil. 1:27 - 2:2

The church are those who are IN CHRIST  i.e. In the ONE BODY.
They are all there because God the Father has PLACED THEM THERE.

Jesus prayer is that THEY BE ONE, to be in complete UNITY.
To be like minded, the same purpose and aims with the WILL OF GOD.

FACT:  They ARE ONE IN THE SPIRIT.     BUT  they are to be ONE WITH THE SPIRIT OF GOD THE FATHER.  One mind WITH HIS WILL AND PURPOSES.

The ONENESS WITH EACH OTHER is determined as to whether WE ARE (each individual who is IN GOD'S SPIRIT) DOING THE WILL OF THE FATHER.....as did Jesus....as do all the angels in the heavens.

This is the ONENESS THAT JESUS SPOKE OF in regard to HIS ONENESS with His God and Father.                        John 10:29-30

1.  He was ONE IN THE SPIRIT (as we are)

2.  He was ONE WITH THE SPIRIT (as we are to be)

To be IN THE SPIRIT was through Baptism (not water)
To be ONE WITH THE SPIRIT (of God the Father) is what we MUST DO to say that WE HAVE ONENESS WITH EACH OTHER and vice versa.

Our ONENESS IS IN DOING GODS WILL.
If this is NOT BEING DONE there is NO ONENESS WITH EACH OTHER nor ONENESS WITH GOD HIMSELF and for this, we as Sons of God WILL BE JUDGED BY Christ.

NOTE: Not for forgiveness of sins  BUT DOING THE WILL OF GOD.    Matt. 7:21-23**   2 Cor. 5:10

Note:  Unless this ONENESS is being a reality, until it does become a reality, GOD IN ALL HIS POWER AND GLORY is not able to MANIFEST ALL THAT HE would.  Not only to the church itself
BUT THE WORLD.
John 14:10-12
